Andrew joined Urban Initiatives in 2003 with 10 years experience working in landscape practices around Australia. He has extensive experience with site masterplanning, zoological and other interpretive landscapes, and has a keen interest and special skills in water sensitive design and wetland projects. In 2007, Andrew moved to Hobart with his family to establish our Tasmanian office servicing clients such as the University of Tasmania, Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority, Tasmanian Local and State Government clients as well as nature-based tourism projects. Andrew has pursued his interest in freshwater eco-systems with a Master of Science Degree at UTAS as well as Planning for Bushfire Prone Areas with UTS and the Tasmania Fire Service.
Andrew Taylor is a Registered Landscape Architect and the Manager of Urban Initiatives’ Hobart office. While actively running the office, Andrew also manages the landscape and urban design projects undertaken by the practice. Andrew also undertakes management responsibilities in the areas of quality assurance, OH&S, financial and client management.
Andrew has 26 years experience in the Landscape Architecture industry, and is an Associate of Urban Initiatives. He has extensive experience in projects with ‘visitor- experience’ led programs and has been responsible for a range of zoological, landscape, urban design, WSUD, and master-planning projects.
Since joining Urban Initiatives in 2003 Andrew has established the Hobart office of Urban Initiatives and has been responsible for the design, documentation and administration of various large scale landscape and urban design projects with a particular focus on the practices Zoological projects.
