BPN Sustainability Awards Finalist

August 25, 2014

logoUI are delighted to announce that Birrarung Marr Upper Terrace has been shortlisted for this year’s BPN Sustainability Awards, in the Landscape Design Category. Now in their eighth year, the BPN Sustainability Awards are a leading benchmark of the Australian building industry’s best-practice.

The project incorporates a 2.5 megalitre stormwater harvesting and reuse system underneath an area of green public open space, and was the result of a design collaboration between Urban Initiatives, Cardno and Jones & Whitehead.  You can find out more about the entry here.

“The calibre of entries keeps getting stronger every year. This is an incredibly positive sign. It reflects the fact that Australia’s architects, designers, builders, product manufacturers and the broader industry have and will continue to improve in terms of sustainability,” says editor of BPN Magazine, David Wheeldon.

We look forward to the final announcement of the winners on 23rd October, 2014.
