Rainforest Entry Exhibit Opening – Melbourne Zoo

December 19, 2013

For the past twelve months Urban Initiatives have led the consultant team for the design of the new $4.2M Rainforest Entry Exhibit at Melbourne Zoo.  Working in collaboration with Melbourne Zoo staff and a specialist team of consultants, including Arterial Design and Snowdon Architects, this exciting and immersive Lemur exhibit will enable visitors to engage close up with Ring Tailed Lemurs set within an landscape which references their natural habitat of Madagascar. The exhibit officially opened on the December 19, 2013 just in time for Christmas.

The design team have now undertaken a new exciting challenge to design the Predators Precinct at Melbourne Zoo.  This includes new exhibits for Lions, African Wild Dogs and Philippine Crocodiles. We are now working on the detailed design phase of Stage 1 of the proposed exhibit due for completion in 2014.
